Job description

We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant Respiratory Physician to work within a regional tertiary Respiratory service centre on either a Substantive or a 12-24 month NHS Fixed Term basis.

Our client is looking for a consultant to join a team of 11 chest consultants and extensive multidisciplinary teams to provide and enhance service delivery, including:

  1. 7-day inpatient care
  2. Pathway design and implementation of a new purpose-built Respiratory Assessment Unit
  3. Acute Respiratory and Specialist Respiratory Care including TB, Lung Cancer, Sleep, Ventilation, COPD, Pleural Disease, ILD, Specialist Asthma, and Cystic Fibrosis
  4. Tertiary Centre for NIV, Complex Asthma, and ILD
  5. General Thoracic clinics & Interventional pulmonology lists on both sites

The Department of Respiratory Medicine also expects the successful candidate to:

  1. Participate in planning, development, and delivery of the Respiratory Service for the Directorate
  2. Provide direct patient care in both inpatients and outpatients
  3. Contribute to multidisciplinary teams and lead care coordination for patients
  4. Participate in the Consultant on-call rota
  5. Undertake teaching of undergraduate medical students, trainees, and other learners alongside clinical duties
