Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner III role requires in-depth knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathology, respiratory diagnostic techniques, treatment methods, and equipment selection and maintenance for chronic, acute, and emergency care in all hospital areas, including intensive care and outpatient settings. The role demonstrates excellent clinical practice by recognizing key aspects of patient care situations and quickly identifying problems and solutions.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. Education: Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy required.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state license in Respiratory Care, RRT, or CRRT required. Current BLS certification required. Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required or must be obtained within one year of start date or according to department guidelines.
  3. Experience: At least three years of practical clinical experience required. Six months of experience at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Practice (MH MMCP) preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Respiratory Care Practitioner II role.
