Job summary

Job Description
Responsibilities
  • To appoint diagnostic outpatients from GP and Consultant referrals for appropriate investigations in order of clinical need.
  • Maintain a waiting list of patients waiting for investigations, who can't be appointed straight away.
  • Appoint extra clinics to help bring the waiting times down to an acceptable level.
  • Answer telephone queries and, if necessary, transfer calls to an appropriate staff member.
  • Undertake other clerical duties as required, appropriate to the grading.
  • Cover reception when needed.
  • Work within the constraints of the Data Protection Act and attend all mandatory training as required.
  • Attend all in-house training courses as required, enabling the delivery of new service developments/changes.

Essential Qualifications & Training
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • RSA stage III typing or proven keyboard skills. Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
