Job summary

BDO is seeking a Resource Manager to lead workforce planning and resourcing strategy across a business unit, partnering with Senior Managers, Directors and Partners to deliver accurate, timely resourcing outcomes.

You will shape workforce strategy, manage planning cycles, and translate data into commercial decisions while promoting agile working and a collaborative, values-driven culture across Britain’s economic engine.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in resource planning, workforce strategy, or operations within professional services.
• Proven track record of leading resourcing strategy and delivering outcomes across large or complex portfolios.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to make and own high-impact decisions.
• Established experience influencing senior stakeholders (Director/Partner level).
• Strong leadership capability, including team management and performance oversight.
• Advanced analytical and commercial acumen, translating data into business decisions.

The Resource Manager is accountable for defining and delivering the resourcing strategy across a business unit or sector. This role provides senior leadership across workforce planning, operational delivery, and stakeholder engagement, with clear ownership of resourcing outcomes, commercial performance, and audit quality. You will operate as a strategic decision-maker and trusted advisor to Directors and Partners, setting direction for resourcing activities, leading planning cycles, and ensuring alignment between workforce strategy and business objectives.
