Job summary

JMAN Group Limited is seeking a Resourcing Manager to support staffing for our London and New York consulting teams. You will partner with senior leaders to allocate talent across projects and drive professional development within a high-growth environment.

You will operate in a hybrid setup, based in London with strong collaboration across global offices. This is a key, individual-contributor role within a small, ambitious resourcing team.

We work primarily with Private Equity Funds and their Portfolio Companies to create commercial value using Data and Artificial Intelligence. In addition, we also work with growth businesses, large corporates, multinationals, and charities.

We are headquartered in London with Offices in New York, London and Chennai. Our team of 650+ people is a unique blend of individuals with skills across commercial consulting, data science and software engineering.

We were founded by cousins Anush Newman (Co-founder & CEO) and Leo Valan (Co-founder & CTO) and have grown rapidly since 2019. In May 2023 we took a minority investment from Baird Capital and in January 2024 we opened an office in New York.

We have a global delivery model, which means that we staff our projects with talent from all our locations based on the specific combination of skills needed and we have a global resourcing team that drive this within the business.

Position

Due to our significant growth, we’re expanding our global resource management function. As one of our Resourcing Managers, you will play a critical role in supporting the success of our consulting team, our clients, and our business.

You’ll partner with senior leaders and the global resourcing team in the day-to-day staffing of a wide range of client projects, lead the project allocations of our London and New York consulting team, and support the professional development of our consultants. You’ll contribute to further developing JMAN’s resourcing operations and strategy, as we shape the structure, processes, and scalability of the function in a rapidly growing business.

You’ll be a self-starter suited and excited by working in a smaller, fast-paced, high growth environment. Comfortable being an individual contributor in a global team context.

Please note: this is not a recruitment role.

You’ll be based in our London office (EC3N), with a min of 3 days in the office.

  • Resourcing projects: Own and drive the resourcing of a wide range of client projects, in partnership with senior leaders in the business. Requires rapidly understanding the specific needs of each project, identifying and agreeing the right global team to deliver the project, and ensuring allocations are completed swiftly. At times, it requires complex problem-solving between multiple projects’ needs and resource availability.
  • Allocation of individuals to projects: Manage the project allocation of individuals in the London and New York-based consulting teams, across a range of seniority grades.
  • Understanding of consulting team: Build a trusted relationship with, and detailed understanding of, everyone in our London and New York-based consulting teams (e.g. their professional experience, capabilities, development objectives, and more). Swiftly match this nuanced understanding of individuals to project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional development: Support the ongoing professional development of all individuals in the London and New York -based consulting teams, in close partnership with the People team.
  • Availability: Maintain a clear, detailed, up-to-date understanding of individual and cohort availability within our London and New York based consulting population, within a swiftly evolving context.
  • Processes and metrics: Execute other key resourcing processes to support the above (e.g. resourcing of new joiners). Understand, monitor and drive key metrics related to resourcing.
  • Data and systems: Manageall London and New York resourcing data, ensuring it’s kept accurate and up to date in our system. Use your analytical skills to identify pattens/trends for opportunities and decision making,
  • Resourcing operations: Contribute to the development of JMAN’s resourcing operations and capability, in the context of an exciting, scaling organisation. This will include leading a series of change initiatives within resourcing (with support), from initial design through implementation. Opportunity to contribute expertise to future resourcing strategy, working closely with senior leadership.
  • Resourcing team: Operateas a core member of JMAN’s global resourcing team (currently a team of 3), including coaching and supporting others. Whilst not responsible for Chennai resourcing on a day-to-day basis, you will need to cover for the Chennai Resourcing Manager during periods of leave or absence.
  • Collaboration: All the above will require effective collaboration with client-facing consulting colleagues at all levels, as well as with all members of our global resourcing team.
Requirements
  • Resource management background: proven and solid experience in a similar role within consulting/professional services, either as a Resourcing/Staffing Manager or a strong number two looking to step up.
  • Prioritisation and problem solving: demonstrated ability to prioritise, creatively solve problems, make decisions at pace, with sound judgement.
  • Collaborative: positive, team-first attitude, thrives in collaborative environments.
  • Adaptability: comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced, evolving situations.
  • Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills. Thoughtfully sets and manages expectations.
  • Initiative: self-starter, able to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Relationship building: skilled at building trust with colleagues at all levels.
  • Data and analytics: appetite for and comfortable with basic data analysis.
  • Tools: Excel essential, Power Bi beneficial.
  • Solutions-focussed: proactive mindset and brings solutions to problems.
  • Ownership: enthused to take ownership whilst welcoming feedback/input.
