Job description

Fixed term contract - 1 year

Start date - April 2025

A Resourcing Advisor supports the candidate journey and collaborates with smaller stakeholder groups to facilitate recruitment activities. The role is based in Dartford, with travel to sites and offices as needed. This position covers EPL for 12 months.

Responsibilities:

  1. Advise on resourcing needs, working with resource and hiring managers to identify and engage candidates.
  2. Utilise databases and job boards to proactively source candidates in a skills-short market.
  3. Support resource managers with strategy, talent pooling, reactive resourcing, and hiring campaigns.
  4. Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives to enable opportunities for diverse candidates and transferable skills.
  5. Collect data on recruitment trends, salary alignment, skills shortages, and market intelligence.
  6. Use the applicant tracking system to organise talent pools and select suitable applicants.
  7. Understand and actively promote diversity and inclusion goals.
  8. Screen candidates against job criteria, conduct initial phone screens, and select the best matches.
  9. Positively promote Laing O'Rourke and its employer brand.
  10. Engage with projects and hiring teams to understand requirements and expand knowledge.
  11. Collaborate with teams to manage contractor populations.
  12. Provide excellent onboarding experiences through communication and candidate relationships.
  13. Identify recruitment trends and report on market intelligence.
  14. Create effective advertising based on hiring briefs and project knowledge.
  15. Maintain administrative records, notes, and project resource plans.
  16. Support internal movements when needed.
  17. Advise hiring teams on recruitment processes.
  18. Assist the Resourcing operations team with tasks such as role approvals and system updates.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • A degree or formal qualification in HR or recruitment, or relevant hands-on experience.
  • Understanding of recruitment practices and candidate management.
  • Knowledge of recruitment challenges and search techniques like Boolean.
  • Experience with CRM, Candidate Attraction, or similar systems such as eArcu, Invenias, PageUp.
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple tasks.
  • Team-oriented approach with a shared goal mindset.
