Job summary

MAG (Airports Group) is seeking a highly analytical Resource Planning Analyst to join the Planning team at Manchester Airport. You will ensure the operational teams have the right people with the right skills, in the right place at the right time, using data, forecasting and workforce planning to support performance and cost efficiency.

The Role

We’re looking for a highly analytical Resource Planning Analyst to join our Planning team at Manchester Airport.

This is a key role responsible for ensuring our operational teams have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time. Working across a complex airport environment, you’ll use data, forecasting and workforce planning techniques to support operational performance, customer experience and cost efficiency.

You’ll create and maintain passenger demand forecasts, develop optimised colleague rosters, analyse workforce utilisation, and provide insight that supports strategic decision-making. As a subject matter expert in workforce planning systems and Excel-based modelling, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across Security, Airfield Operations, Terminal Operations, Landside Operations and Asset Maintenance. This role offers the opportunity to influence operational planning across one of the UK’s busiest airports while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and future workforce strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Producing short and medium-term passenger demand forecasts
• Developing resource deployment plans and colleague rostering solutions
• Monitoring workforce utilisation and identifying opportunities for optimisation
• Supporting resource modelling and budget planning activities
• Producing data analysis and management reports that drive operational decisions
• Maintaining headcount, capacity and organisational structure reporting
• Becoming a super user of workforce management systems and tools
• Building strong relationships with operational stakeholders across the airport
• Identifying trends, risks and opportunities through workforce data analysis
• Supporting continuous improvement projects and more efficient ways of working

What will make you successful in the role?

We’re seeking an experienced planning professional with a passion for using data to solve complex operational challenges. You’ll have:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, modelling and large-scale data manipulation
• Experience in resource planning within a large-scale operational environment
• Proven expertise in demand forecasting and workforce optimisation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A commercial mindset with the ability to balance operational performance and cost efficiency
• Experience implementing process improvements and leveraging technology to increase effectiveness
• The ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable recommendations
• A proactive, adaptable and positive approach to work
