As a Lead Cybersecurity Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls organization, you are an integral part of a team that develops high-quality cybersecurity solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. You will be responsible for implementing critical cybersecurity architecture solutions by identifying, creating, and communicating risks, mitigation options, and solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support project goals.
Job responsibilities
- Develop tools to continuously monitor controls, including sampling engines and tools supporting a controls compliance engine.
- Engage with technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future cybersecurity needs.
- Define the technical target state of cybersecurity products and drive the achievement of strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to enhance cybersecurity of software applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess cybersecurity design and technical credentials for use in existing systems and architecture.
- Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of innovative cybersecurity technologies.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of practical experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions and controls.
- Advanced proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, SQL, GraphQL, and tools like Splunk, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodologies.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with agile methodologies, including continuous integration, delivery, application resiliency, and security.
- Proven expertise in software applications and technical processes within specific disciplines like cloud computing, AI, or mobile.
- Deep knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Practical experience with cloud technologies.
- Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions for future architecture.
- Effective communication skills with senior business leaders.
Additional qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of network security architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, and components.
- Experience in cybersecurity design and engineering.
- Experience with disaster and cyber recovery planning and testing.
- Experience working with external auditors and regulators.
- In-depth knowledge of system and application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP, NIST, SANS).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; certifications like CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or AWS are advantageous.
