Help us create a better future, quicker SP Energy Networks is seeking a Cyber & Operational Resilience Threat Lead to play a key role in protecting critical services and strengthening organisational resilience. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of cyber security, operational resilience and threat intelligence within a Critical National Infrastructure environment.

What you'll be doing

As the Cyber & Operational Resilience Threat Lead, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing and communicating threats that could impact SP Energy Networks' people, operations, technology, facilities, suppliers and critical business services. You will help shape a threat-informed resilience approach, ensuring the organisation is prepared for a constantly evolving landscape that includes cyber, operational, geopolitical, environmental, physical and supply chain risks.

Working closely with Cyber Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, Operational Technology, Enterprise Risk and Business Continuity teams, you will turn complex threat information into practical actions that strengthen resilience across the business. You will support informed decision-making, guide investment priorities and help ensure SPEN remains prepared to respond to emerging challenges.

This role will lead resilience threat assessments, horizon scanning activities and vulnerability reviews, providing valuable insight into current and future risks. You will contribute to resilience planning, crisis simulations, cyber exercises and recovery testing, helping the organisation understand potential impacts and improve its readiness. You will also produce threat-informed reports and briefings for senior leaders and support regulatory and assurance activities, including CAF, NIS and Operational Resilience assessments.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a proactive and analytical professional with experience in Cyber Security, Threat Intelligence, Operational Resilience, Risk Management or a related field. You will have a strong understanding of cyber threats, threat actors, resilience risks and emerging threat trends. Experience working within Critical National Infrastructure or other highly regulated environments is highly desirable.

You should be comfortable analysing both technical and non-technical information and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting skills are essential, as you will work across a wide range of business, technology and operational teams while building relationships with industry, regulatory and government partners.

Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Information Technology (IT), NIS Regulations and the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) will be important. Experience within the energy, utilities or wider Critical National Infrastructure sector would be advantageous, as would professional qualifications in cyber security, resilience, risk management or threat intelligence.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence resilience strategy, drive meaningful improvements and help safeguard the services that millions of customers rely on every day. If you are passionate about understanding emerging threats and strengthening organisational resilience, we would love to hear from you.
