Our purpose is simple: “To make organisations more resilient and help them thrive.”

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our Consultancy team. We are looking for a highly motivated Resilience Consultant to deliver our core client services and support the development of our ESG services.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Consultancy and Lead Resilience Consultants, you will support and deliver our core resilience services, including crisis management, business continuity, and risk management. This is a client‑facing role requiring strong communication and relationship management skills, solid analytical capability, and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

As we grow our ESG service offering, there is an opportunity to help shape ESG‑focused projects for a diverse range of clients across the UK and internationally. If this is of interest, you will support the development of our ESG offering and contribute to our Net Zero strategy.

You will work on impactful projects that directly enhance organisational resilience, helping clients understand their risks, strengthen preparedness, and embed resilience at a strategic level.

About You

We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional with a strong interest in resilience, problem‑solving, sustainability, and ESG. This role requires strong analytical capability and the ability to translate complex challenges into practical, client‑focused solutions.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Communicate confidently and build trusted client relationships
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
  • Are willing to travel in the UK and internationally
  • Bring experience from industry, consultancy or government

We welcome applicants who meet some, but not all, of these criteria. Your mindset, potential, and passion are just as important as formal experience.

  • Legal right to live and work in the UK
  • UK or EU passport (required for client travel)
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally for up to 40% of your time
  • Valid UK or EU driving licence

This is a Resilience Consultant role, a large proportion of your time will be spent client‑facing, managing projects and delivering Horizonscan’s core services. You will be required to:

  • Prepare and maintain client materials, including policies, BCPs, BIAs, Risk Registers, and reports
  • Facilitate client meetings, workshops, presentations, and training sessions
  • Support team members
  • Support the development and delivery of our ESG services
  • Plan and organise client visits and project logistics
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professional development
  • An interest in ESG and sustainability, and/or experience supporting ESG, climate risk, or Net Zero‑related projects
  • Proficiency in a second language
  • Practical experience in the private sector or within risk/resilience, emergency services, local authorities, insurance, or the military
  • Relevant Professional certifications
  • Degree‑level education in a relevant discipline
  • Living locally in Kent or able to travel to our offices

Recent consultancy experience in business continuity, risk management, ISO standards, ESG or sustainability is highly valued.

  • £37,000 – £42,000 depending on skills and experience
  • Generous training and development opportunities, including fully funded degrees or master’s programmes (where aligned with business needs)
  • Comprehensive benefits package including pension scheme, gym membership, health insurance, lunch vouchers, nights away allowance, and mobile phone allowance

  • After one year, you become an employee‑owner, gaining access to additional benefits and a stake in our success
