Job summary

Suffolk County Council is recruiting Youth Support Practitioners for a one-bed home in Shotley, Suffolk. You will support a child aged 11-17, with a focus on safety, development and wellbeing, across a 4-week rolling rota that includes early mornings, evenings and sleep-in shifts.

You will join a small team in a brand-new home, with training and progression opportunities, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes for the young person.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people.
• Understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements.
• Willingness to undertake required training and development.
• Full driving licence or mobility options to meet role requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for vulnerable children aged 11-17 in a one-bed home.
• Build trusting relationships and monitor wellbeing and development.
• Contribute to care planning with other professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents, social workers and schools.
• Deliver care plans, supervise medication administration and participate in team meetings.
