Salary: 26,500 - 28,000 per year + Christmas Bonus

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time - 40 hrs per week

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals within a children's home setting. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for young people between the ages of 10-16, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence.

We provide a safe and therapeutic space for our young people to better understand themselves, their past and build confidence to focus on the future. Our homes include Cherry Blossom, The Beech House, The Beech House School and Willow Lodge with plans to open further homes.

Please note that the company is not able to offer sponsorship and therefore candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.

Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving licence is required.

Main Duties:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
  • Supervise daily activities and provide guidance to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Foster a supportive environment by communicating effectively with residents, families, and other staff members.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in care delivery and encouraging teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' behaviours to senior staff.
  • Engage residents in social activities and promote community involvement to enhance their quality of life and exposure to new opportunities.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as needed.
  • Drive residents to appointments or community outings when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in children's care or a similar role is essential.
  • Understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with young people and their families.
  • Role modelling qualities that inspire confidence and teamwork among young people and staff.
  • A valid full UK driving licence is required
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others in need.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Early: 7:30am- 3pm
  • Late: 2pm-11pm

Staff will be required to complete a sleep-in shift once per week; 11pm-7am. This is paid in addition to your usual salary at a flat rate of 50 per night.
