Job description

I am currently looking for a number of Residential Support Workers for waking nights at a residential school in the Alfreton area.

The role includes:

  • Helping to create a positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his/ her safety, health and education.
  • Helping to carry the homes ethos and values through to the young people and represent TeacherActive as a professional.
  • Maintaining good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted Regulations and the Quality Care Standards for children s homes.
  • Engaging in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring the safety of young people overnight, by making regular observations and checks throughout the night.
  • Manage challenging behaviours according to guidelines and policies.

The shifts are normally 21:00-08:00 but can vary week by week.

Applicants must have:

  • At least 6 months experience working with young people.
  • Strong communication, organisational and time management skills.
  • A positive can do attitude.
  • Proficient English, Maths and ICT skills.
