Action for Children is seeking a Residential Support Worker (Shift Leader) in Shrewsbury. The role focuses on day-to-day care, personal needs, promoting independence, and engaging children in activities to support their well-being.

The post requires experience in care, strong communication with service users and families, and emotional resilience to handle challenging situations. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is preferred, with support to complete if needed.

Formación

• Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.
• Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
• Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
• Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
• Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment.
• Experience in a trauma informed setting, residential short breaks, or children's services.
