Are you a caring and committed individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential children’s home in Burton upon Trent, supporting young people with additional needs to thrive in a nurturing, supportive environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about care work and eager to be part of a dedicated team making a genuine impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide compassionate day-to-day care and support to children with learning disabilities
  2. Assist with personal care tasks including hygiene, dressing, and feeding
  3. Encourage participation in educational and recreational activities both at home and in the community
  4. Support the emotional development of children through positive relationships and consistent care
  5. Help implement and follow individual care plans
  6. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic support
  7. Monitor and record behaviours, progress, and care needs
  8. Maintain a safe and nurturing environment at all times
  9. Manage challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support techniques
  10. Take part in ongoing training and team development sessions
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children, ideally with learning disabilities or additional needs (preferred but not essential)
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) is an advantage
  • Empathetic, calm, and patient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties
  • Full UK driving licence (essential) - must include business insurance
