Job description

Residential Care Officer
Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Contract: Temporary, Full-time hours
Pay Rate: £16.57 per hour (PAYE) / £20.95 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role:
Sanctuary Personnel is currently looking for a compassionate and committed Residential Care Officer to join a dedicated team within a children’s home in Stockton-on-Tees. Working under the supervision of the Registered Children’s Home Manager, you will contribute to the smooth running of the home while providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage effectively with young people and their families to support, monitor, and develop care plans.

Promote family reunification through outreach and community-based services.

Maintain structure, consistency, and routine in the home to support young people individually and in groups.

Develop working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in residential childcare.

Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding risks while promoting welfare.

Build and maintain effective partnerships within the service and wider community.

Accurately record information and actively participate in reviews, meetings, and case discussions.

Participate in the rota, including sleep-in and waking night duties where required.

Contribute to service improvement by upholding high standards of care and professional conduct.

Requirements:

Strong commitment to safeguarding and working within statutory frameworks.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Willingness to undertake or already possess a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.

Positive attitude towards professional development and training.
