Job summary

Keys Group is seeking a Residential Support Worker for children’s homes in Widnes. The role involves caring for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, providing emotional support and guidance in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Job description

Residential Support Worker – Children’s Homes

Location: Widnes – drivers only

Salary: £13.45 per hour plus £3,000 – £6,000 pa for sleep‑ins (£62.64 per sleep‑in)

Shift patterns: Full‑time working long days plus extra sleep‑ins (approx. 4–6 sleep‑ins per month)

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Experience is not essential; we provide training.
  • Exceptional caring, nurturing, emotionally resilient personality.
  • Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
  • Ability to remain calm during challenging situations.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts and sleep‑ins.

We are looking for a children’s support worker to be part of a lovely family home, caring for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role is emotionally challenging but rewarding; you will give encouragement and praise, be patient and understanding during crises, and inspire them to grow and develop.
