Children's experience and qualifications, although valued, are not essential, and we are able to provide intensive support and training in the role. We welcome diverse professional and personal skills and experience as well as hobbies and interests that can be shared with the children and utilized in your work.

Support Worker Role

• Dealing with challenging behaviour (verbally abusive, possibly threatening behaviour)
• Requirement for positive role modelling at all times and maintaining a consistent approach.
• Dealing with constantly changing guidelines and procedures presented by our Governing Body.
• Develop a functional approach in young people who are likely to have been rejected or have serious issues in coming to terms with their behaviour.
• Support the young people to have equal opportunities to develop their independence and social skills in preparation for adult life.
• Liaise with parents, carers, other third parties, and the staff team.
• To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
• Ensuring placement plans are followed, policies, procedures, risk assessments and rotas are in place, and education is supported.

The successful candidate:

• Needs to be passionate about making a difference in young lives.
• Will understand trauma and have the resilience to deal with challenging behaviour.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice and specialist guidance to our children and families (once trained).
• Use their initiative to resolve problems.
• Be a positive role model for the young people.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work.
• Ability to work as part of a team around the young people.
• Can be available to work Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7.30am – 11pm.
• Option to work consecutive shifts and have more time off in between.
• Can commit to sleep in up to 8 times per month.
