Job summary

National Skills Agency Ltd is seeking a Skills Coach – Residential Childcare in Newcastle to provide high-quality coaching, assessment and feedback to learners, ensuring they progress and achieve qualifications while meeting targets.

You will manage a caseload, deliver on-the-job coaching, and plan learning with individualised plans. The role emphasizes safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 teaching qualification such as PTLLS or Award in Education and Training.
• Level 3 assessing qualification such as CAVA, TAQA or equivalent.
• Relevant occupational/vocational qualification.
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Enrol and induct learners in line with procedures and funding requirements.
• Manage a caseload, monitor progress and support timely achievement.
• Provide regular one-to-one coaching, guidance and support.
• Conduct initial and ongoing skills assessments and learning plans.
• Plan, deliver and assess learning to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours.
• Maintain accurate learner records, e-portfolios and evidence of learning.
• Review learner work and provide constructive feedback within timelines.
• Support EPA preparation and ensure understanding of EPA requirements.
• Monitor off-the-job training requirements for apprentices.
• Collaborate with employers to review progress and set SMART objectives.
• Deliver required English and Maths to Level 2 where needed.
• Deliver commercial training within occupational areas and promote safeguarding.
• Attend meetings, QA activities and CPD events.
