Role: Service Manager – Specialist Care Service
Location: Bromyard, Herefordshire
Salary: £36,959.04
Hours: 37.5 per week

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Service Manager to lead an 18-bed care service delivering high-quality residential, dementia, respite, and disability care. The service is based in a scenic, single storey setting with easy access to local shops and amenities, offering beautiful countryside views.

This role requires working closely with the local community, GPs, and healthcare professionals to provide care that empowers residents to lead full and meaningful lives. The care model places individuals at the heart of everything and is grounded in core values of wellness, happiness, and kindness.

Key Responsibilities of the Service Manager:

Objectives:

  • Lead with authenticity, inspiration, and by example, motivating the team to deliver exceptional care
  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations and 24-hour care delivery of the service
  • Ensure effective use of resources and maintain high occupancy levels
  • Promote independence, choice, and continuous improvement in residents’ quality of life
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those set by the CQC

Leadership:

  • Be a visible and approachable leader for the whole team
  • Uphold and embed high standards of care aligned with the service’s core vision and values
  • Ensure robust recruitment and onboarding processes are followed
  • Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement through clinical governance

General Management:

  • Manage the service’s budget and meet all key performance indicators
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., health & safety, environmental health)
  • Support residents in managing their personal finances where applicable, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Promote a culture of meaningful, engaging activities for all residents

Essential Requirements to apply for the Service Manager’s role:

  • NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health & Social Care, or working towards it
  • Caring, compassionate, and committed to person-centred care
  • Proven experience managing a service of similar size and needs, in a Manager, Deputy Manager, or Team Leader capacity
