Job summary

The Nelson Trust operates a residential women’s service in Stroud, delivering trauma-informed care to support recovery from addiction. We seek a Recovery Support Worker who brings empathy, clear boundaries and safeguarding awareness to help clients progress through treatment in a safe, structured setting.

Qualifications

• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with boundaries.
• Understanding of residential addiction treatment or CQC-regulated environments.
• Awareness of safeguarding and keeping clients safe.
• Openness to learning and developing (medication processes, first aid, qualifications).

Responsibilities

• Support clients with everyday needs to build stability (housing, finances, health).
• Encourage engagement with treatment programmes and recovery journey.
• Welcome new arrivals and help them settle in and begin treatment, including medication processes.
• Maintain clear care plans and records; explain expectations to clients.
• Help create a safe, respectful, well-run environment meeting CQC standards.
