The team

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading Property group, recognized as Top Tier by the Legal 500. Working as part of one of the North West’s largest Property groups, the Residential team provides high-quality advice across a range of matters, maintains strong client relationships and supports progression within Myerson’s collaborative culture.

In addition to typical fee-earning duties, you will mentor junior team members and assist with their day-to-day enquiries.

The role

Typical duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on sales and purchases of the full range of residential property, including houses and flats, with a focus on high-value properties and those affected by the Building Safety Act.
  • Dealing with lender requirements in relation to sales, purchases and remortgage transactions.
  • Assisting on transfers of property portfolios on incorporation of partnerships and limited companies.
  • Dealing with leasehold property issues, including lease extensions and enfranchisement for flats and houses.
  • Assisting with matters arising from Myerson’s Insolvency department and Private Client team, including probate property matters and related disputes, family trust matters, and property transactions arising from divorce.
  • Providing accurate, prompt, realistic and relevant advice in response to client enquiries while managing their expectations.
  • Understanding client requirements and how to achieve their needs; developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Liaising with Myerson’s in-house marketing department to promote the Residential Property offering and convert enquiries into new matters.
  • Undertaking business development and marketing opportunities, including writing blogs and updates, press releases, and attending networking events.
  • Supervising, supporting and guiding junior members of the Residential Property team.
  • Ensuring proper file management and accurate time recording and billing within agreed timescales.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in line with firm policies and procedures.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in legislation, case law and carrying out legal research.
  • Promoting and complying with equal opportunities and health and safety policies in service delivery and treatment of others.
  • Identifying and undertaking training to meet personal, SRA and business needs.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties to ensure the efficient running of Myerson.
Who we are looking for

The position would suit candidates with a strong academic background who want to develop their career in a team-oriented environment. Candidates must have at least 4 years’ PQE with excellent knowledge of all areas of residential property law and experience providing high-quality advice in a leading residential property team.

Strong technical ability is essential; we also look for a candidate who will contribute to the team and support mentoring of junior members. Previous mentoring experience is helpful.

The role requires excellent written and verbal communication, strong organisational and time management skills, accuracy, and the ability to solve complex legal issues and adapt to new areas of law. The successful candidate will have excellent client and matter management skills.
