Residential Property Lawyer - Somerset - 2+ years experience

Location: Somerset (Office-based with flexibility)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £45,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience)

A well-established law firm in Somerset is seeking a Residential Property Lawyer to join its friendly and collaborative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Solicitor, Legal Executive, or experienced Conveyancer to take on a varied caseload and contribute to a growing property department.

The Role

You'll manage a broad range of residential conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, and remortgages of freehold and leasehold properties. Experience in commercial property is a bonus but not essential. The role offers the chance to work closely with a supportive team of fee earners and support staff, delivering high-quality service to a loyal client base.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing residential property transactions from instruction to completion
  • Handling sales, purchases, and remortgages of freehold and leasehold properties
  • Communicating effectively with clients, agents, and third parties
  • Maintaining accurate records and progressing matters efficiently
  • Contributing to team collaboration and client satisfaction
  • Supporting the department's continued growth and reputation

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Conveyancer with:

  • 2+ years experience in residential property law
  • Strong client care and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, confidence, and ambition
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently
  • Commercial property experience (desirable but not essential)

Working Arrangements

The role is primarily office-based in Somerset, with some flexibility available. The property department includes a close-knit team of fee earners and support staff.
