Job description

Residential Multi-Utility Manager

Salary: Up to £90,000 + comprehensive benefits package

Location: Flexible UK location with travel as required

Are you ready to build and scale a growing residential utilities business?

Do you want the opportunity to shape a team, influence strategy and leave a lasting impact?

Are you looking for a role where your experience can genuinely change the direction of a business?

The Opportunity

This isn't a role where you'll inherit a mature business and spend your time maintaining the status quo. Instead, it's an opportunity to take ownership of a growing residential multi-utility division within a well-funded, highly respected organisation and play a key role in shaping its future.

You will lead the team delivering infrastructure projects for housing developers across the UK. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll have genuine influence over the direction of the business and the freedom to shape how it operates and grows.

You’ll be responsible for driving performance across the entire operation, from tendering and commercial strategy through to project delivery, supply chain management and customer relationships.

You’ll have the freedom to challenge existing ways of working, redesign processes, develop the team structure and implement the commercial and operational approach needed to compete with the most established names in the residential utilities market. This is a rare opportunity to build, improve and scale a business unit, bringing your own ideas, experience and leadership style to create lasting impact.

If you've spent your career in residential utilities and have found yourself thinking, "there's a smarter way to do this", this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading and developing a growing residential multi-utility team.
  • Reviewing and improving organisational structure, processes and ways of working.
  • Driving improvements in tendering, estimating and commercial performance.
  • Building effective supply chain partnerships and delivery models.
  • Improving tender success rates and helping convert a strong pipeline of residential opportunities into secured work.
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for housing developers and key stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the successful delivery of residential utility infrastructure projects.
  • Managing commercial performance, profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to scale the residential business.
What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with experienced professionals from the residential utilities sector who combine strong commercial awareness with operational leadership experience.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience within the residential multi-utility sector.
  • Strong understanding of electricity, gas and water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with housing developers and residential customers.
  • Knowledge of NERS, WIRS and GIRS environments.
  • A background in commercial management, tendering, estimating, contracts or operational leadership.
  • Excellent commercial judgement and an understanding of how residential utility work is priced, tendered and delivered profitably.
  • Experience leading teams and implementing change.
  • The confidence to challenge existing approaches and introduce new ideas.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in shaping and building a growing residential utilities business at an exciting stage of its journey. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll have direct access to decision-makers and the autonomy to influence how the business operates, develops and grows.

With a strong pipeline of residential opportunities already in place, you'll be joining a business with real momentum and the ambition to become a significant player in the market. In return, you'll benefit from a flexible working environment, genuine long-term career development opportunities and the chance to leave a lasting mark on a business at a pivotal stage of its growth.

If you're looking for a role where your industry knowledge, commercial judgement and leadership capability can genuinely influence the future of a business, we'd love to hear from you.
