Job summary

Source 4 is seeking a reliable Handy Person / Driver to manage day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of a residential building in Slough. The role requires hands-on skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision to keep common areas safe and welcoming.

You will perform routine inspections, carry out basic repairs, assist with furniture moves, handle external grounds tasks, and respond to residents' queries. The position runs Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional out-of-hours support.

Qualifications

• Requires general maintenance background and ability to perform basic repairs.
• Decorating skills and willingness to handle cleaning duties.
• Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
• Flexible, proactive, and willing to go the extra mile.
• Experience in a similar caretaker or maintenance role.
• Willing to travel to other buildings and assist out-of-hours cover.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily visual inspections of the building and grounds, identifying issues and arranging action.
• Keep communal areas and external grounds clean and well maintained.
• Manage the bin store and report bulk items left in the area.
• Prepare flats for new residents moving in.
• Respond to tenants' queries and assist them as required.
• Carry out minor repairs, redecoration and end-of-warranty snagging.
• Undertake regular safety checks including fire alarm systems and emergency lighting.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in all shared spaces and windows.
• Communicate daily with the managing agent and support the wider team.
• Assist with furniture moves and provide holiday cover at other buildings.
• Be willing to support out-of-hours call-outs.
