Job summary

Athena Care Homes are looking for a Kitchen Assistant at Langdon House Care Home in Cambridge to support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality meals for residents. You will assist with meal service, maintain cleanliness, and help with dining experiences that respect residents' dietary needs and dignity.

Qualifications

Experience in a kitchen environment or catering background, ideally in a care setting.
NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene is desirable.
Reliable with excellent communication and high attention to detail.
Computer literacy with basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef to maintain high standard catering and dining experiences for residents.
Assist with meal service, ensuring meals meet dietary requirements and areas are clean and stocked.
Engage with residents in conversation and meaningful activities respecting their dignity and communication differences.
Ensure health and safety compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety manuals.
