Qualifications

Overview

Residential Home Manager - Children's Services

Location: Bedfordshire / North Hertfordshire

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 p/a + 10% bonus + £1,000 for successful Ofsted registration

Additional package: Up to £80,000 p/a for dual registration + company vehicle

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the home, including staff supervision, care planning, safeguarding, and compliance
  • Lead with a child-centred approach, ensuring personalised care plans are in place and outcomes are achieved
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015
  • Build positive working relationships within the community and with external partners to promote the best outcomes for young people
  • Produce monitoring reports and contribute to ongoing service improvement
  • Promote and embed equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of the home
Qualifications
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services (or willingness to work towards)
  • At least 2 years' experience working with children in the past 5 years, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience of working in residential childcare and managing staff teams
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the needs of children in care
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including Children's Homes Regulations and the Children Act
  • Ability to develop and lead a high-performing, motivated staff team
