Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to deliver professional fire risk assessments across residential properties in London. You will undertake surveys, apply BS9792:2025 and PAS 79-1 guidance, and work with building safety teams to ensure compliance.

You will lead the assessment programme, maintain high standards, report to the Lead Fire Risk Assessor, and stay up to date with fire safety legislation. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a fire risk assessor for residential housing, with BS9792:2025 and PAS 79-1.
• Minimum 20+ fire risk assessments in low to moderate risk buildings; 12 months relevant exp.
• Ability to carry out site visits and inspections, including accessing loft spaces.
• High understanding of risk mitigation and regulatory guidance for fire safety.
• Membership of Third Party Accreditation Schemes such as BAFE/LPCB/IFE.
• Strong report writing and ability to coordinate stakeholders and present findings.
• Knowledge of evacuation strategies and fire safety building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality fire risk assessments for residential properties.
• Undertake surveys and follow-ups to ensure compliance with health, safety and TRG procedures.
• Take a co-operative lead in directing the fire risk assessment programme.
• Keep up to date with current fire safety legislation and guidance and apply to assessments.
• Report to the Lead Fire Risk Assessor and manage internal/external stakeholders.
