Job summary

Residential Living Recruitment is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician for a premium Build to Rent community in Liverpool. You will perform grounds maintenance, cleaning, waste management, and basic repairs to keep the development safe, clean, and welcoming for residents.

Role involves inspecting fire doors, reporting hazards, and supporting apartment turnovers with cleaning and waste removal. A practical, hands-on attitude and good English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities, grounds maintenance, caretaking, cleaning, maintenance, hospitality, residential or property environments.
• Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual duties indoors and outdoors.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards.
• Good communication skills and written English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine fire door inspections and accurately record findings.
• Identify and report defects, hazards, and safety concerns.
• Follow all Health & Safety, COSHH, and manual handling procedures.
• Maintain equipment and tools in a safe working condition.
• Conduct daily inspections of communal areas including lobbies, corridors, lifts, stairwells, amenity spaces, and car parks.
• Ensure all shared spaces are clean, safe, and well presented.
• Maintain landscaped areas through regular weeding, watering, and grass cutting.
• Keep pathways, entrances, and outdoor amenity spaces looking their best.
• Report larger landscaping works that require specialist contractors.
• Replacing communal light bulbs
• Unblocking drains
• Applying sealants
• Tightening fixtures and fittings
• Basic repairs within competency level
• Support apartment turnarounds by assisting with cleaning and waste removal when required.
