What you’ll do

When you join the team with Davisons Law as a Residential Conveyancer (New Build) , you will be responsible for overseeing and managing your own case load of new build property matters, from inception through to conclusion, including sales, purchases, shared ownership, right to buy, and lease extensions ensuring transactions progress smoothly and efficiently.

You will have a relevant qualification (i.e. solicitor, CILEx, CLC) or have considerable experience in conveyancing and managing your own caseload .

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing and overseeing your own caseload of new build purchase files and related sales/part-exchanges , from inception through to conclusion, including sales, purchases, shared ownership, right to buy, and lease extensions.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with new and existing clients, key contacts, providing legal advice and support throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent technical experience and knowledge of conveyancing procedures and regulatory obligations, as well as the ability to process cases in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Must have proven record as a Residential Fee Earner with expertise in New Build properties.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures.
  • Process cases on a timely and cost-effective basis , achieving agreed billing targets.
  • Have a strong organisational skillset, IT literate and experience of using web-based case management systems.
  • Be commercially astute , understanding the importance of business targets and their impact to the practice, generating a fee income in line with agreed targets.
  • Work on freehold, leasehold, and shared ownership properties .
  • Experience of handling client enquiries both face to face, remotely and by telephone .

We are working with a very well-established, small, friendly high street law firm who have had a presence in Lichfield for over 100 years and are very much part of the local community.

We are looking for an experienced legal assistant to support a busy specialist Landlord (Residential Leasehold and Enfranchisement) team.

FULL TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN in specialist landlord/residential leasehold and enfranchisement work.

This role would be suitable for someone who has some experience within residential conveyancing who is looking to move away from transactional work.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting busy fee earners
  • Working as a key member of the specialist Leasehold and Enfranchisement team
  • Liaising with clients and third-party professionals by phone, email and face to face
  • Drafting and typing of correspondence and legal documents
  • Providing administrative support to the team

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant within conveyancing or commercial property
  • An interest in learning about specialist landlord/leasehold and enfranchisement work
  • Knowledge of land registry procedures
  • Experience of using the land registry portal

This is a full-time permanent job working 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday.
