Job description
Overview

Our client has a requirement for an experienced conveyancer to join their small, friendly team. You will be responsible for your own caseload of residential property and it is therefore essential that you are used to operating at this level. Full or part time applications will be considered.

Main Purposes
  • To undertake fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department
  • To ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan
Main Responsibilities
  • To manage all client work in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm's Office Manual and Lexcel procedures.
  • At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner and to be continually sensitive to all facets of the overall quality of service being received by clients.
  • To ensure the confidentiality and security of all of the firm's and client documentation and information.
  • In close liaison with Accounts to have overall responsibility for credit control on own matters.
  • To comply with all relevant professional and accounting standards.
  • To maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the firm.
  • To ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
  • To anticipate problems and difficulties and take suitable actions.
  • To attend departmental meetings as required.
Specific Responsibilities
  • To ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and on costs.
  • To deliver up-to-date legal advice to clients.
  • To give clients “value for money”, and to participate in ensuring that the firm plans to transact work that maintains and improves profitability.
  • To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording.
  • To answer telephone calls and to deal with messages.
  • To set up and maintain an efficient system of diary management.
  • To deal with correspondence and to maintain regular contact with clients on current cases. To operate a work flow package.
  • To provide a quality responsive Conveyancing service.
Personal
  • In conjunction with the firm, to comply with the relevant training requirements of the Law Society and to assist with in-house training as may be required.
  • To contribute to the flow of information within the firm.
