Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a Construction Manager to lead delivery of residential schemes, from bid to handover, ensuring safety, quality and on-time performance.

You'll coordinate multidisciplinary site teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, and work with partners to drive buildability, programme, and cost control while maintaining a positive living environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering residential projects with multidisciplinary site teams.
• Budgets, forecasting, cost control & risk awareness.
• Knowledge of construction methodology, buildability, design coordination, programme management and Building Regulations.
• Strong communication and collaborative approach.
• Confidence using digital construction and reporting tools.
• CSCS card and SMSTS, or equivalent.
• A relevant construction qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the programme, logistics and sequencing to keep delivery on track.
• Partner with the commercial team on profit plans, cash flow, risks and opportunities.
• Share site expertise during bids, buildability reviews and customer presentations.
• Develop strong partnerships with supply-chain partners and stakeholders.
• Be a key point of contact for customers, consultants, residents and local stakeholders.
• Foster a positive safety and quality culture and zero harm.
• Coach and develop Project Managers, Site Managers, Section Managers and early-career colleagues.
