At The Old Lodge, part of CrossReach’s Children and Families services, everyday moments like playing a game, cooking a meal or walking on the beach help build trust and change young lives. The children and young people in our care have faced real challenges – and your role is to help them feel safe, supported, and ready for whatever comes next.
Set in a peaceful location near Erskine, The Old Lodge is a small, community-based house where young people can feel at home. They also attend our new purpose-built school nearby, which means education and care go hand-in-hand in helping them thrive.
At CrossReach, everyday moments like sharing a meal, playing a game or walking along the beach become powerful ways to build trust and brighten young lives. The children we support have faced tough times. Your role is to help them feel safe, valued, and ready to thrive again.
You’ll be part of a warm, community-based team, working in small houses and supporting children through daily routines, emotional ups and downs, and care plans shaped just for them.
We’re ideally looking for someone with an HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3, along with experience in care or education. A full manual driving licence is essential too – outings are part of the job! Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a kind, patient and compassionate approach, who truly wants to make a difference.
The house operates on a rota basis, typically involving a mixture of early (2pm-10pm) and late (7am-3pm) shifts, as well as weekly sleepover shifts. These may vary depending on the needs of the young people.
In return, we offer full training, a supportive team, and the chance to be part of something meaningful. We also provide a range of benefits, including retail and leisure discounts, a contributory pension plan, death in service benefit, family-friendly policies, health cash plans, and access to a care concierge service.
With over 150 years of experience, CrossReach is one of Scotland’s largest social care providers, committed to high-quality, compassionate care in Christ’s name, supporting people of all ages to live full lives.
This role requires you to have a Christian faith and uphold our Christian Ethos, as it is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010. You must also be a member of the PVG Scheme, registered with the SSSC, and have the legal right to work in the UK. We value diversity and inclusion and encourage applicants from all backgrounds.
