Location: Bristol

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £, per annum (includes sleep in shifts)

Hours: Specific hours per week

Responsible for: Team Leaders, Residential Support Workers

Job Purpose
  • Ensure the needs of young people are met and provide a safe, positive living environment.
  • Manage and lead staff to deliver high-quality childcare.
  • Support the Home Manager to ensure smooth operation and positive outcomes for young people.
Main Duties
  • Work shifts to ensure effective home management and safeguarding.
  • Manage staff and deputise for the Home Manager.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and report concerns immediately.
  • Maintain knowledge of legislation and promote best practices.
  • Foster multi-agency collaboration and positive relationships.
  • Lead by example, set standards, and support staff development.
  • Contribute to care planning and review processes.
  • Promote equality, health & safety, and confidentiality.
  • Participate in training, on-call duties, and manage budgets responsibly.
Candidate Requirements
  • Good education; working towards or holding Level Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.
  • Knowledge of child care legislation and standards.
  • Experience working with challenging young people and outside agencies.
  • Excellent report writing, IT, and organisational skills.
  • Empathy, motivation, leadership skills, and a full UK driving licence.
  • Subject to enhanced DBS check.
