Residential Children's Home Team Leader, Gloucester

Headway Adolescent Resources is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to join our residential services in Gloucester. We have established a strong reputation in the adolescent childcare sector, focusing on holistic care tailored to each young person, regardless of their background.

Position Details:

  • Location: Gloucester
  • Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Salary: Up to £[amount], with sleep-in shifts; unqualified and qualified roles available
  • Hours: [specific hours] per week

Purpose of the Job:

  • Ensure the needs of young people in our care are met, providing a safe and positive living environment
  • Manage and lead Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality childcare

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work shifts to ensure the home operates efficiently, safeguarding young people and creating a homely environment
  • Manage and supervise Residential Support Workers, providing guidance and support
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, legislation, and company procedures
  • Promote effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with staff, community, authorities, and other professionals
  • Model professional conduct and support staff development
  • Participate in developing and reviewing care plans and young people's participation
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and data protection policies
  • Attend training sessions and support QCF learners as required

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good educational background
  • Level Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent (or working towards)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of child care legislation and standards
  • Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour
  • Strong report writing, organization, and IT skills
  • Empathy, motivation, leadership, and team management skills
  • Knowledge of child protection protocols and legislation
