Residential Children's Care Home Team Leader

Our client is a market leader within the care industry, working with 43 local authorities and county councils, and providing direct services to HM Government Home Office. The organisation specialises in providing best-in-class residential care for children and young people who have complex needs. Job Purpose

To join a team offering a comprehensive residential service for young people with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour aged between 10-18 years. Our aim is to ensure the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the young people.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. To join a team of residential care staff ensuring that safe and appropriate care practices are always maintained.
  2. To support the Manager in all aspects of the home’s operation, whilst maintaining positive childcare practice, in keeping with the aims and objectives of the home.
  3. To provide a safe, warm, and supportive environment to our residents whilst being involved in the planning and organisation of the home.
  4. To maintain a regular recording system in connection with each young person, be involved in the implementation of care plans and assist in the publication of reports when required.
  5. To attend review and planning meetings when required.
  6. To assist with the process of development, implementation, and review of service policy.
  7. To ensure when on shift that care staff conduct themselves within the guidelines of the home in line with Policy documents and care plans.
  8. To delegate tasks to residential care staff and co-ordinate the daily routines of the home and participate in household duties such as cooking, cleaning, gardening and promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  9. To participate in general activities of the home such as cycling, swimming, walking, playing games and to use any personal skills to maximise opportunities for each resident.
  10. To attend regular supervision sessions, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  11. To accept responsibility for such monies as may be required in the carrying out of your duties.
  12. To administer medication to children as required and complete all related paperwork and records.
  13. To undertake sleeping in duties as required.
  14. To comply with and adhere to the policies, procedures, and practices of the home and to respond to emergencies which may arise within the service.
  15. To provide a positive role model for colleagues and the young people resident.
