Walsall Council is seeking individuals with experience working with children in a professional setting to join our Children’s Residential Services within Walsall.

Role Details
  • Position: Residential Childcare Workers (full-time and part-time)
  • Salary: G6: £29,093 - £33,366 pro-rata (plus 5% enhancement for unsociable hours and additional payments for sleeping in duties). Qualified starting salary: £31,067 (pro-rata). Unqualified starting salary: £29,093 (pro-rata).
  • Hours: Various (37 hours x 1, 21 hours x 1)
  • Location: Various homes across Walsall; location to be determined upon appointment.
  • Note: Sponsorship is not available for this role.

This role requires resilience, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and motivation to positively influence children. Candidates must be willing to work on a rota that includes weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, and sleeping in duties (additional pay).

Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified candidates should hold a level three/four qualification in children’s residential care or equivalent.
  • Applications from unqualified candidates with relevant experience (employed or voluntary) and a passion for working with children are encouraged.
