Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a Casual Residential Childcare Worker to provide day-to-day care for children and young people in a safe, nurturing environment within Cheshire East.

You will support a Registered Homes Manager and Senior Residential Support Workers, delivering a person-centred therapeutic service and high-quality childcare. A Level 3 Diploma or related degree is required along with childcare experience.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce or relevant degree
• Experience in a childcare setting is required
• Excellent knowledge of the Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and the quality standards within it
• All essential residential courses must be completed

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
• Work with care plans and risk assessments and contribute to their review.
• Form effective relationships with children, families (where appropriate) and external agencies.
• Maintain high professionalism and ensure residential childcare standards.
• Support educational and social development and assist with Individual Education Plans.
