Job Description

We are seeking a Residential Childcare Worker for full-time day shifts. A full UK manual driving licence is required.

In your new role

You will be part of a dedicated team working directly with young people, supporting them with various complex needs related to their life experiences and childhood adversity.

Responsibilities
  • Work positively, respectfully, and empowering with young people to promote good relationships and achievements.
  • Collaborate with a team to meet social, emotional, educational, and mental health needs.
  • Encourage participation of young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills.
  • Write review reports, risk assessments, and contribute to care plans.
  • Liaise with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of the young people are maintained.
What we look for
  • Understanding of developmental needs and milestones of young people.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with young people, parents, and professionals.
  • Ability to produce clear reports and verbally communicate effectively.
  • Calm and objective in challenging situations, with the ability to challenge individuals where necessary.
  • HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level 3 in Care, or equivalent qualification, or willingness to undertake these qualifications.
