Job Description:

We are seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to join our team. A full UK manual driving licence is required.

In your new role

This role offers the opportunity to work with young people, supporting them through complex needs related to their life experiences and childhood adversity.

What will you do?
  • Work positively and respectfully with young people to promote good relationships and encourage achievements.
  • Collaborate with a team to address the social, emotional, educational, and mental health needs of young people.
  • Encourage participation of young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills.
  • Write review reports, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to care plans.
  • Liaise with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of the young people are maintained.
What we look for?
  • Understanding of the developmental needs and milestones of young people.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with young people, parents/carers, and professionals.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise reports and verbally present information.
  • Capability to challenge individuals appropriately, remaining calm and objective in difficult situations.
  • HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care, or equivalent qualification, or willingness to undertake these qualifications.

All Residential Childcare Workers must undergo a PVG check and achieve membership prior to starting. For England-based roles, an Enhanced DBS is also required, with costs covered by the employer.
