We currently operate eight residential childcare services in Scotland and an independent school in Dumfries, with locations in Dumfries and Galloway, Highland, and Fife.

Role Overview

We are seeking compassionate and empowering Residential Child Care Support Workers to provide care for children and young people who cannot live with their families. Many of our children have experienced adverse childhood experiences and trauma. We need individuals who understand the challenges children face and can support their recovery and growth within a caring and nurturing environment.

About the Service

Our home in Fife offers medium to long-term placements for children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, including those who have experienced trauma. Staff will be appropriately qualified and registered with SSSC regulations or working towards registration. The service operates a rota system with staff on-site at all times and includes an on-call support service.

Ideal Candidate

• A good understanding of developmental needs and milestones for children and young people
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with children, young people, families, and professionals
• Ability to produce clear, concise reports and records
• A valid manual driving licence
• Willingness to undertake specialist training and achieve relevant professional qualifications (e.g., HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level 3 in Care)

All Residential Childcare Workers must undergo a PVG check by Disclosure Scotland and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). CareTech will cover the PVG check costs.
