Job summary

Headway Adolescent Resources is seeking a Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our new residential home in Chedzoy, Somerset. This casual, ad-hoc role offers flexible hours with no contractual obligation and involves supporting young people with challenging behaviour.

You must have a QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People and a full manual driving licence. The role pays £14.11–£14.77 per hour plus a sleep-in allowance of £46 per night when required.

We are currently looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our new residential home on a casual basis. Based in a children's residential home, you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour. You need to be flexible, resilient, honest, well-organised, and committed to providing high standards of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes.

Applicants must have:

• Previous experience of working with challenging young people, preferably in a residential setting (not essential)
• Qualified to QCF level 3 in Children and Young People
• Capability to work on their own initiative with a high level of accuracy and maintain clear, neat records
• Good inter-personal skills and be a positive team player
• Intermediate computer experience
• Ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements
• Empathetic nature
• Good oral and written communication skills in various contexts
• Ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people
• Full manual driving license (essential)
