Job description

Location: Badgworth

Contract: Shift Pattern - ad-hoc cover

Salary: Unqualified - £12.79 per hour; Qualified - £13.11 per hour plus sleep-in shifts when required.

Headway Adolescent Resources was formed in 1999 and has established a good reputation in the residential adolescent childcare sector. We pride ourselves on having the insight and ability to care for young people as individuals in a holistic manner, regardless of their background.

We are currently looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our new residential home on a casual basis. This amazing opportunity allows you flexibility to work hours you can commit to with no contractual obligation.

Based in a children's residential home, you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour. You will need to be flexible, resilient, honest, and well-organised, as well as committed to providing a high standard of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes.

Applicants must have:

  1. Full manual driving license
  2. Previous experience of working with challenging young people (desirable, not essential)
  3. Willingness to work towards the fully funded qualification in Level 3 Children and Young People (or already qualified)
  4. Capability to work on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy and maintain clear, neat records
  5. Good inter-personal skills and be a positive team player
  6. The ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements
  7. Empathetic nature
  8. Good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts
  9. The ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people
  10. A sleep-in allowance of £36 per night as and when the business needs.
