Salary: £21,838.44 - £27,393.08 per year plus allowances

Hours: 25 hours per week

Harmeny Education Trust is a charitable organisation providing therapeutic care and education to children who have experienced early years trauma through abuse, neglect and family disruption, referred from all over Scotland. We currently work with children and young people aged 5-18, both on a day and all-year-round residential basis.

We are seeking two Residential Child Care Workers (Nights) to join our Care team on a part-time (0.64 FTE) employed basis, one on an ongoing contract and one on a fixed-term contract to 17 August 2026.

The post holders will contribute to the creation of a culture and ethos in which the needs of the children are paramount and provide them with security, safety, care and social development to enable them to reach their potential. The post holders will be responsible for all childcare needs through the night.

The successful candidates will work approximately 137 nights per year on a six nights on / 10 nights off rota basis. The working hours are 10pm to 7.30am. There will be opportunities to work additional night shifts to cover for colleagues (e.g., holidays) but this will not be compulsory.

The remuneration for the post is dependent on qualifications, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), and can be as follows:

£21,838.44 per annum inclusive of a nights allowance (unqualified)

£22,952.78 per annum inclusive of a nights allowance (part-qualified)

£25,054.52 to £27,393.08 per annum inclusive of a nights allowance (qualified)

The part-time salary is calculated based on a full-time equivalent salary that ranges from £29,416 to £36,898 per annum.

The applicants should be registered, or will need to register within the first three months of employment, with the SSSC as a practitioner on the register for children and young people workforce in residential child care services.
