Job description

Are you looking for a role that specialises in children’s residential care and can offer you flexible hours that fit around your other commitments?

Pebbles is building a zero-hour workforce to provide additional support for children and young people across a region or area.

Your role and responsibilities - Residential Child Care Worker
  • Ensure children and young people are cared for comprehensively, including safety, education support, cooking, cleaning, and engaging activities.
  • Support care teams across several homes within the same area.
  • Receive full induction, shadow shifts, and training, including Therapeutic Parenting.
  • Communicate regularly about shift availability; a minimum of one shift every four weeks is required to remain in the role.
What we offer you
  • Hourly rate of £12.75 - £13.53, plus £80 per sleepover, depending on qualifications.
  • Coverage of 24-hour shifts, including sleepovers and part-time daytime shifts.
  • Paid annual leave accrual (Full-time equivalent of 28 days).
  • Full pay for sleepovers and rest breaks.
  • Referral scheme: £400 per successful referral.
  • In-depth introduction to Therapeutic Parenting.

Essential qualities

  • Valid UK manual driver’s license.
Desirable qualities
  • Experience with children or young adults (highly desirable).
  • Relevant qualifications (SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma) or willingness to obtain.
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes (SSSC / Ofsted).
  • Existing PVG / DBS or willingness to obtain.
