Your role and responsibilities - Residential Child Care Worker
- Ensure children and young people are cared for comprehensively, including safety, education support, cooking, cleaning, and engaging activities.
- Support care teams across several homes within the same area.
- Receive full induction, shadow shifts, and training, including Therapeutic Parenting.
- Communicate regularly about shift availability; a minimum of one shift every four weeks is required to remain in the role.
What we offer you
- Hourly rate of £12.75 - £13.53, plus £80 per sleepover, depending on qualifications.
- Coverage of 24-hour shifts, including sleepovers and part-time daytime shifts.
- Paid annual leave accrual (Full-time equivalent of 28 days).
- Full pay for sleepovers and rest breaks.

Essential qualities

- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office.
- Valid UK manual driver’s license.
Desirable qualities
- Experience with children or young adults (highly desirable).
- Relevant qualifications (SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma) or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge of regulatory codes (SSSC / Ofsted).
- Existing PVG / DBS or willingness to obtain.
