Location: Tyldesley, Wigan

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week (shift-based)

About The Role

Were looking for a passionate and reliable Residential Care Worker to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people in a warm, safe, and nurturing home environment. This is your chance to make a real difference in young lives by providing day-to-day care, emotional support, and helping them thrive.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support children and young people in a safe, stable, and supportive environment
  • Build trusting relationships and encourage positive behaviours
  • Help young people with daily routines, appointments, school engagement, and recreational activities
  • Maintain clear and accurate records, including care plans, risk assessments, and daily logs
  • Ensure the home meets regulatory standards (Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 & Ofsted expectations)
  • Work closely with other professionals, including social workers, schools, and healthcare providers
  • Occasionally step up as a Senior when required

What Were Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (preferably in a residential care setting)
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins
