Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking a Residential Care Officer at Pinewood Avenue Children's Home in Doncaster to contribute to positive outcomes for our community's children and young people. You will participate in admissions, monitor progress, and contribute to care planning and reviews, recording progress and supporting residents during illness or emotional or behavioural challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the admission of Children and Young people and the monitoring, evaluation and review of their progress.
  • Actively contribute towards overall care through Care Planning and link working, formulating, participating and involving Children and Young People in their individual care plan.
  • Participate in reviews and case conferences as appropriate ensuring recommendations are implemented and maintained.
  • Record Children and young peoples progress through detailed recording systems as prescribed in and Childrens Homes Regulations (2015).
  • Assist Children and Young People through periods of illness, emotional or behavioural difficulties seeking medical or other assistance and support as appropriate.
  • Help to achieve the smooth running of all aspects of the home and participate in domestic/household activities and duties as required including cooking and the supervision and training of residents in these activities where appropriate.
  • Share responsibility with the Registered Manager for the security of drugs and other medications.
  • To participate in the sleeping in rota.

Based at: Pinewood Avenue Childrens Home, Doncaster

Salary details: Grade 7 28,598 - 31,537 pro rata (pay award pending)

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, 27 Hours per week
