Job summary

MLA Recruitment is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor/Residential Surveyor for roles across the North East and North Yorkshire. You will primarily undertake RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys, inspecting diverse residential properties and delivering clear, practical reports to clients.

The role offers hybrid/flexible working, autonomy to manage your own workload, and development opportunities with GoReport technology and admin support. Full-time and part-time applications considered.

Qualifications

• AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS qualification or suitable SAVA experience.
• Experience undertaking residential property surveys.
• Knowledge of traditional construction and common defects.
• Strong technical and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage own workload and meet reporting deadlines.
• Confidence dealing directly with clients.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys.
• Inspecting a varied range of residential properties.
• Identifying defects and understanding their underlying causes.
• Preparing clear, comprehensive and practical reports.
• Providing post-survey advice to clients where required.
• Managing your own inspections, reporting and workload.
• Working within established inspection and reporting procedures.
