We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to plan, prepare and deliver a diverse range of activity to learners aged 7-17.

Contracts are available from 21st March for a period of up to 2-3 weeks at our residential school in St Albans.

As a Residential Activity Leader, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that students have a safe, enjoyable, and enriching time. From organising sports and creative workshops to supervising excursions and evening entertainment, this dynamic role is perfect for individuals with energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with young people.

As an Activity Leader, you will:

  • Plan and lead engaging activities in performing arts, sports, arts and crafts and large group games and evening events. Encouraging active participation, engagement and inclusivity in your sessions.
  • Accompany and guide students on cultural trips to local attractions, ensuring students complete all work required.
  • Act as a role model, always ensuring students’ safety and well-being, both during activities and within the residential setting.
  • Provide pastoral support to students adjusting to the summer school environment, including meal and house supervision.
  • Work closely with other staff members to maintain a high standard of service and ensure smooth delivery of the program.
About You
  • Previous experience working with young people in a residential, educational, or activity setting is desirable.
  • First Aid and relevant coaching qualifications are desirable.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach with a high level of energy and enthusiasm is essential.
  • A sensitivity to working with diverse groups and a genuine interest in cultural exchange is essential.
  • Must be willing to live onsite at the residential school for the duration of the contract.

We are especially interested in hearing from candidates with expertise, coaching experience or a specialist interest in any of the following areas:

  • Sports – Football, tennis, cricket, archery, volleyball, badminton, basketball and hockey
  • Art and design
  • Cookery
  • Photography and film making
  • Performing arts – dance, drama and music

If you don’t have experience in the above activities, we are still keen to hear from you. If you can engage young people, bring energy and infuse fun into the course, you will make a great Activity Leader!
