Job summary

Hartford Care Limited is seeking an Activities Coordinator for our care home in Lode Hill, Downton, Salisbury. You will plan and organise engaging activities to promote happiness, wellbeing and a fulfilling daily routine for residents, respecting their preferences and abilities.

You will lead group sessions, provide individual support, and coordinate entertainment while ensuring safety and inclusivity across all activities. A warm, patient approach and excellent communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise activities: Develop a varied programme of daily activities and events.
• Promote social interaction: Encourage group participation to reduce loneliness.
• Provide individual activities: Offer one-to-one sessions as needed.
• Support physical wellbeing: Organise gentle exercise, walking and movement sessions.
• Encourage mental stimulation: Arrange quizzes, reminiscence, reading groups and crafts.
• Celebrate special occasions: Organise birthdays, seasonal events and themed days.
• Support residents' hobbies: Help maintain interests and discover new ones.
• Promote independence and choice: Involve residents in planning activities.
• Build relationships: Develop positive relations with residents, relatives and staff.
• Involve families and visitors: Encourage family participation in events.
